Professional Experience
During his second year of law school, Daniel worked for Countywide Financial Services in the mortgage servicing legal department. During his final year, he clerked for a Texas judge.
After graduation, Daniel joined Hartline, Dacus, Barger, Dreyer & Kern, LLP, where he defended manufacturers in products liability claims. His specialized in auto, tire, and pharmaceutical cases, and represented General Motors, BMW, Honda, Toyota, Goodyear, Bridgestone/Firestone, Continental General Tire, Conoco-Phillips, Lincoln Electric Co., Tyco Flow Control and Wal-Mart Pharmacies.
Seeking a broader practice scope, Daniel left Hartline to join the Dallas office of New York firm Wilson Elser, LLP. He spent close to two years defending ERISA employment benefits cases for CIGNA, Prudential and other insurers. He also defended Barnes & Noble premises liability claims, and defended underwriters facing over $100,000,000 in liability in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.
In early 2007, Daniel left Wilson Elser with eight other attorneys to form Marshall White, LLP, a boutique Dallas firm representing European insurers and underwriters and their agents. During his tenure, he was instrumental in settling a multi-million dollar international contract dispute involving stolen airplanes, and defended Lloyd’s of London Underwriters in a $75,000,000 coverage lawsuit against Taco Bell franchisees.
In late 2007, he left Marshall White in to join Robert Scott and Brent Money in Greenville. He currently represents Hunt County in civil matters and serves as an Assistant City Attorney for the City of Greenville. He represents local businesses and individuals in litigation and family trust matters, and is currently spearheading the litigation and rehabilitation efforts of Hunt County in response to the severe foundation problems on its $15,000,000 Justice Center.
Personal Biography
Daniel was born in Fort Worth, Texas, and grew up in the Dallas area and in West Texas. After graduating from Greenville High School, Daniel attended Howard Payne University. During college, he married one of his professor’s daughters, Marla, who teaches music at his grade-school alma mater, Greenville Christian School. He has three children – Jackson, Jude and Roman.
